However, I now have a delima. I went out earlier today a picked up an address book so that I could have one that was dedicated to my blogging/exchanging/stitching buddies. I now have several names and addresses to put in my new book. But, I don't know how! Ok, yes, I do know HOW.....just put pen or pencil to paper! LOL!
I just don't know the best way to organize it! Should it be alphabetical by last name? (I don't really know you all by your last names and I don't want to lose you on the sea of pages) Do I alphabetize by first name? (This might be better, but some of you use nicknames) Or, do I put you in there by your blog name? (I don't think this works either since some of you are lurkers, not bloggers)
Now do you see why I'm stuck? HELP!!!!!!

Hmmmm...great questions. I would go by blog names or perhaps your followers names. Ohhh this is tough.

I always organize my address book by first name because people (esp. women get married and divorced) and change their last names and it increases the scratching out and moving around. I still refer to lots of my friends my maiden last names since that's how I knew them. Remembering first names is so much easier than last names!
Well, that is a dilemma and a chore! Personally, I prefer to organize by last name as that's how I was taught. I'd say do what's best for you.

If it's specifically for this, i'd probably do it by blog name (as in posting name) or blog address or a mixture of noth for clarification - cause the last thing you want to do is draw a name and think now what blog are they?

I organize my RAK addresses by first name in an address book :) I've also included their blog name underneath so I know whom is whom! Hope that helps and it's nice to see someone else on board! I'll send over my address to you in a bit.
By first name is how I have mine...If I had it by last name I wouldnt ever find you guys!!hahaha.
But, I do go ahead and put your blog address along with email with the snail mail info...That way when I am posting, I will have your link right there in my book and dont have to go any further...

I alphabetize by first name followed by the blog name and last name. I also include any notes such as exchanges or RAKs so I won't forget.
I think there is no perfect way to do this. I have mine sorted by last name and I made sure to put their email and blog name in there too. All the "clues" so when I have to find someone, I can just scan over all the names if I don't remember straight away. I also write what exchanges, if any, we may have had each others name for and that makes it easier to remember. You will have to let us know what you decided and how it works for you =)
I would go by blog names. If you think you can keep those straight! LOL
About DMC, my local needlework shop has said, (I'm just passing on the info, it doesn't mean I'm a Wal-mart hater by any means),that when Wal-mart (and possibly Joann's) started buying DMC products, they wanted to lower the price to undercut everyone. Well, DMC started making a grade of thread that was "cheaper" to accommodate their request. If you look on the label, all of the skeins that are made in France, say so on the label. This new grade of thread will say "Not for sale outside the European Union". I can't tell a huge difference, only some of these new skeins have horrible dye lots.
Anyway, just thought I would let you know what I've heard about it.

I can't help you with that. I had everything logged in by first name, but messed up with that. I like Faye's way of doing things.
I have one of those too, and I put the nams in by first name. Then OI also have a page with all the blog names alphabetically with the person's first name after. I hope that between the two I'll know who everyone is. Sometimes it even works....
i haven't been a blogger long enough to have had that puzzle enter my mind...I am not sure, but Faye seems to have it worked out.
