Work is busy with another tax deadline on the 15th and it is not helping that I have a severe case of heartburn this week. I have a feeling that this heartburn was caused by all the anxiety I've been dealing with in the past month. Anyway, I feel like everything is up in the base of my throat and I'm constantly feeling sick. I finally figured all of this out yesterday, so I put myself on a regimen of OTC medication and I'm now on day two. Boy, I hope this goes away fast. Not only do I feel horrible, but I don't even want to stitch! You know we can't have that!
Here's wishing y'all a great weekend!
Happy Stitching!

Hi, Jennifer~just had a bit of concern over something you said and wanted to add my two cents. I'm not any sort of certified medical anything, but please consider getting a pro evaluation before using otc heartburn meds. I was plagued by this sort of thing on and off for well over two years; I even thought I might have celiac disease or another food intolerance. In the end, it was actually under-production of stomach acid, and not over! :o (Many symptoms of hypo/hyper HCl production are identical; for example acid reflux can indicate both.)
So, in my case, I was doing a lot of damage with those otc mes like Zantac and etc and or alka seltzer as well. The worst damage was probably further down the line on my GI tract, and with my intestinal balance thrown off by insufficient acidization of eaten food, my health deteriorated alarmingly.
I actually take HCl supplements with every meal, and the stomach indigestion cleared up within a day or two. All the rest of the health stuff is resolving more slowly with good diet and a pile of supplements (which I can actually now digest and absorb).
Stress definitely can decrease your stomach's HCl output---arthritis running in the family line is another marker of the hypo-secretion.
At any rate; please take care of your health and get to feeling better soon so that you can stitch more! :D
Sorry to hear you have been feeling poorly Jennifer. Look forward to seeing your stitchy pics. Have a nice week-end.
Hmmm...heartburn, your biological clock is screaming at you...are you sure it's "just heartburn" and not more of "a bun in the oven?" Just throwing that one out there! :) Hope you feel better soon.
boy - the same thing natalie said popped into my head...but I also hope that if you still aren't feeling well soon, that you'll check it out with a doctor... can't have it interferring with stitching too long! Have a good weekend, Jennifer, and take care!
I hope you're feeling better soon!
Jennifer I am really sorry you are feeling so unwell. But, please, listen to Berit because she makes an awful lot of sense and I'm not a medic either. Just a mother with a very poorly daughter who has Chrones amongst other things. I hope you feel better soon.
Lots of Love

Sorry to hear you're feeling a bit yuk. 'Heartburn' I'd get it checked I've had something known as 'reflux acid' for years and take a tablet daily for it that was prescribed by the Dr. it sorts it out but I did at one time go through the agonies of agonies with it. Hope you feel better soon.
