It's All About the Numbers

It seems that everywhere I turn my life is about numbers.  From the numbers that I put into each tax return, to the number of hours I spend at work, to the number of hours I actually get to spend with Hubby and the pup. 

Even though most of my hours are spent working right now, I finally managed Finish #5.  Here it is in all its glory........"The Counting House" by Little House Needleworks

I've decided that this piece will be perfect for the little one that we are longing to meet and it will grace the wall of his/her bedroom.  I see my two angels in the two sheep and I'm hoping that they will be able to guide our little one to us very soon.



I'm not sure what I'm going to start next, but I know that Finish #6 will need to be for an exchange, so don't be surprised if you don't see any stitching from me for awhile.  I have a March 15th deadline and it is fast approaching.

On another note, my number was picked and look what came in the mail on Wednesday!

I won Myra's giveaway and this cute little guy has come to live with me.  She is such an amazing woman......quilting, sewing, stitching, and maker of all things crafty!  I'm so honored that a little piece of her handmade love has come to live with me.  Thanks again Myra!

Well, time is ticking away and my only day off is coming to a close.  I'm hoping to get a few stitches in before I have to start dinner.

One Lucky Girl

I've been watching Deb over at Threadgatherer work with hers and I started drooling.  Just look at what she did with her GO! Baby.  After seeing the hexi pincushion and the tumbler quilt I knew that I must have this.  I was just about to put it on my birthday wish list when I saw the giveaway on Lindsay's blog.  I took a chance and posted a comment.  Lo and behold, out of 357 valid entries, Lindsay picked my name!!  I still can't believe it!

Another Year Older

Mail Delivery

Last month I entered a giveaway.  The other day this arrived from my neighbor to the north.  See the postage stamp?

It was a lovely package from Angela over at Hooked on Stitches.  I'm such a lucky girl!

My pillow has been carefully stored away with all my handmade Christmas items and will be proudly displayed next year.

New Blogger, Giveaway & a Dead Computer

First the good news........my dear friend Darlene is now blogging.  You go girl!  Plus, she is also having a Valentine's Day Giveaway!  Check out her blog and maybe you will be the winner.

In other news, my home computer has crapped out.  I think Hubby may have been perusing too much on the Internet!  So, forgive me for the lack of posts.  But, be assured that I have been successful in the crazy challenge and I have started all 15 projects.  Plus, I'm much further on MR as well.

I think I may make a trip to Wal-Mart later today to check out the net books!

Goals & Giveaway Announcement

I can't believe it......November 30th already!  Good thing I've fulfilled some more of my goals before month end.  I finished my piece for the Blackbird Designs Exchange 6 and it will be going out in the mail today.  ON TIME!  I also finished stitching one ornament (one out of way too many), but I still have to "finish" it.  However, I think I'm going to wait until I get a few more done and have a personal "finishing party" like I did last night.  Last night's finishing party consisted of my exchange piece and three Christmas gifts.  So, I guess I can mark some more off of the list.  YEAH!!!

I can also mark off another unnamed goal.  I challenged myself to blog everyday along with NaBloPoMo and I did it!  Today was the last day.......WHEW!!!  I'm glad that NaBloPoMo only comes once a year.  It is only once a year, isn't it??????

By the way, I'm glad that you all liked my haul from Black Friday.  Especially the Mon Ami piece Noel 2009.  I figured you all might like that one, so I bought a second one for the giveaway.  Now all that's left is to go over to Random.org and pick a number........hold on a sec.......ok.......here we go.......

Does This Mean My Luck is Changing?

I got an email over the weekend from Belinda of Blue Ribbon Designs.  I was the runner up in her Milestone Blog Giveaway and I won the tan sewing companion.  I'm so excited!

I was under the weather all weekend (and now into this week) with a cold/sinus thing, so winning this really cheered me up.

200 Followers Giveaway

This morning gave me the greatest little surprise.  When I looked at the dashboard on my blog yesterday I had 197 followers.  Now it is up to 203!  So, it looks like it is time for a little giveaway to celebrate crossing over the 200 mark. 

I'm so glad that I picked up a special chart while I was stash shopping with my friends this weekend.  It is perfect for this giveaway.  I think it is full of holiday cheer and it should be enjoyed before the holidays.  So, with that in mind this contest will be open until Midnight (EST) Monday, November 29th.  That way I can get the package in the mail so that you can start some holiday stitching.

Another Magical Number

Giveaway Confusion

I've gotten a few questions concerning my Market/Stash Giveaway.  The items that were pictured in the post are not the items in the giveaway.  These items were acquired to add to my personal stash.  However, I did bring home a few extra items from Market that I will be including in the giveaway along with some additional items that were purchased specifically for this giveaway as well as things from my stash.

Tons of Goodies and a Market Giveaway

I promised pictures of the goodies that I was lucky enough to pick up while I was at market.  While this is not everything, most of it made it into this picture.  (Sorry if it is a little dark, we've had rain for the last four days and also got caught in the Tropical Storm Nicole remnants so my lighting is less than desirable.)

Not pictured are some additional charts from Raise the Roof, Miss Crescent's Crowne and Sam Sarah as well as a Jenny Bean T-Shirt from Shakespeare's Peddler.  I also came home with some Crescent Colors Cottons and Belle Soie.  YUMMY!!!  (Thank you dearest Sharon!!!!  Kisses!!!!)

Lately, I've really been into Lakeside Linen and I've got quite the stash to prove it.  However, I've seen many of you using linen from Picture This Plus.  So, since I was unlucky lucky enough to have them just down the hall, I took a quick peek.  After seeing all of the delicious colors I knew I had to give it a try.  I was good and I came home with only one stitcher's half.  I don't remember the name of it off the top of my head, but it is a lovely shade of lilac in 36ct..... (I know, it looks a little grey in this picture, but the color in the picture above shows up a little better.)

This is one of my favorite pieces from the show..........

It is a birth sampler from Chessie & Me.  After I read the saying I knew I had to have it.  It says "When you were born, you cry and the World Rejoices"  "May you live in such a manner that when you leave this earth, the World cries and You Rejoice".  Quite lovely, don't you think?  I thought it was a perfect sampler to add to the stash so that I'll have it on hand when the time is right.

Speaking of the time being right, I think that it is time for another giveaway.  I picked up a couple of goodies from market just for you.......my dear blogging buddies.  It will be a surprise as to what it is, but I will say that I did buy duplicates because I had to have it for my stash as well.  I'm also going to include a few bits of fabric and a chart or two from my personal stash since I had to make room for my new goodies.  (Hubby's orders!)

Birthday Giveaway Arrival

Remember earlier this month when I decided to hold a give away for my birthday?  You know, in the time before the whole world came crashing down?

Well, it arrived safe and sound at Patty's house.  (Don't tell her, but it was me, not the mailman, that included some extra special items along with the frog......)

I also sent her some Kelmscott scissors, a cut of opalescent linen and a scissor fob.  After all, you must have scissors to go along with your frog.  And, who wants a naked pair of scissors?  Those scissors were just screaming for a fob!  So, I stitched up the fob from LHN's Needle and Thread.  I even decided to fancy up the backside with the year.  I filled the fob with crushed walnut shells, so it will also double as a pin cushion.
